Government plans to move more than 20,000 civil service jobs out of London and are bogged down in "cynicism, opportunism and foot dragging", an analysis of the relocation programme reveals today (08.March 05)
Tony Blair made clear his determination to push through the move of jobs away from London last November when, in a note to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott, circulated to all Permanent Secretaries, the Prime Minister declared that "commitments to relocation must be met" as they formed "an integral part of the efficiency programme"
